Okay ladies…it’s your big shopping day and you want to get it all done, right? I know what it’s like. You get out in that big shopping mall and you begin to lose focus. You’re staring at your holiday list, yet have no idea where you are going? You are beginning to feel overwhelmed. Your can feel the tension headache coming on…
I have a few tips to set yourself up for SUCCESS before you get out to the shopping centres:
1. Do your cardio first thing in the morning. Just drink some water and then get it done! Whether you go out for a brisk walk, bike ride, or do some high intensity training in your home; the point is to get it done first thing in the morning.
Doing your cardio leave you feeling focused, energized, and ready for your day! This is just what getting up your heart rate does!
2. Eat a wholesome breakfast. I recommend having a bowl of oatmeal with berries or your choice of eggs. I do my cardio first and then I am ready to eat. Your body needs the nutrients in the morning. You have just slept for approximately 8 hrs. and your body needs to be replenished. Eating will activate your metabolism and set up your body to begin burning calories.
3. Before you get our the door…have a meal plan. Will you be eating out? Can you pack a lunch or some nutritious snacks? I recommend that you pack some healthy foods to get you energized for your big shopping day! I know that when I’m hungry, I get very unfocused and irritable. I usually pack an apple, almonds, cut up raw veggies, and a homemade muffin. Depending on how long you are away you may to pack up more food.
4. Eat every 2-3 hours. You want to maintain your sugar levels. When you go too long without food, your sugar level will drop and you will begin to crave sweets. Not good! So by eating every few hours you can ward off those cravings!
5. Have a list of what to buy. Before you set foot out the door…know what you are looking for. This will save you a lot of wasted time and sanity!
I hope that these tips will help you to enjoy your shopping excursions! I just completed my 30 min. of cardio on the stationary bike. I also just did my 20 min. shoulders and ab workout from The Fit Chic year of workouts. I am writing this while eating my oatmeal and blueberries…now I feel totally ready and pumped to hit those stores!
Happy Shopping!
Cheers to health,
Angie
