Hello…I just am so excited to write today because I’ve started my day so well! I made myself a nice fruit salad this morning for breakfast. I actually did not think we had much fruit. I had some frozen blueberries that I thawed for a few seconds in the microwave. I then added some fresh raspberries (they were on sale J ) , and half a cut up banana. It was perfect. I also had one slice of whole wheat toast with my favourite topping – peanut butter…mmm…So you really don’t need to have a ton of fresh fruit in your home to make a salad of it.

I started making myself the fruit salad for breakfast after I read The Every Other Day Diet. I am following the Lifestyle Plan of the diet. It’s really not a diet at all because I don’t believe in dieting. I believe in eating healthy and this is just what this book is all about. It’s in such a simplistic form, which is why I love it too.
I want to also make an announcement, “I am a Certified Personal Trainer!†Yes, I passed my exam! I am officially certified…it feels so great! What makes this all so exciting for me is that it marks a new phase in my life. It’s what I needed. I am the Angie of this moment. The past is just like the meaning of the word, “The Past.â€
This is something that I learned from listening to Scott’s Unstoppable Fat Loss product as well. So many of us identify ourselves by our past. The problem with this is we dwell on our mistakes/failures of the past. Instead we should be focusing on the present and what are our GOALS TODAY . What can we accomplish today to bring us closer to our goals? There is always something you can do. It may be something so small but it’s those baby steps that lead us closer and closer to what we desire.
On that note…I have already completed my 20 minute workout from The Fit Chic’s Year of Workouts. I am doing ‘dropsets’ right now. There is such a variety of workouts and phases that will add spice and variety to your routine. Believe me, there is no boredom here!
I had a couple of clients to train today and I asked the one girl, “What is the one thing you can do today to bring you closer to your fitness goals?†She was quiet for a moment and then replied that she needs to clean out her bedroom to make room for her stationary bike. Right now her bike is in the garage! I don’t think she’s hopping on it too much when it’s in the garage!
The reason I asked this question is because sometimes we get so bombarded by what we should be doing to attain our fitness goals. For example, making a healthy meal, weight training, cardio, educating oneself…the list goes on. Often with so much knowledge of what we ‘should do’ we get so stressed out and don’t know how to focus! (sometimes this leads to doing nothing at all)
So I’m having her focus on just ONE thing she can do today. Now she may only have a half hour to work on her room. Tomorrow she may have an hour…eventually she will get that room cleaned and the bike can fit. However, it’s staying focused on that goal of getting the bike inside of the house. Maybe you can think of that one thing you can do today too.
Stay focused and have a fabulous day!
Cheers to health,
Angie
