“Make Your List and Check It Twice” - Plan For Success Over The Holidays

December 17th, 2008
· Filed Under: Fat Loss Mindset · Fat Loss Nutrition

When it comes to dieting and exercise, the key is to always take consistent action. Even better - planned, focused, and committed consistent action. Once you begin to live your life with your health as a top priority, nothing can get in your way. Yes, I said NOTHING. That’s right, not even the fast approaching holidays.

Be Grateful This Holiday Season

November 26th, 2008
· Filed Under: Fat Loss Mindset

Are you a GRATEFUL person or do you tend to focus on the things that you don’t have? Do your thoughts often reflect a stream of negative, incessant thought all day that keeps repeating itself over and over again?

You may want to listen to what I have to say here because your thoughts may be having a direct effect on just how much exercise you engage in each week!

How Do Successful Dieters Respond?

November 14th, 2008
· Filed Under: Fat Loss Mindset · Fat Loss Nutrition

I thought this was an interesting study to report from Boston College: “60% of the successful dieters had strong beliefs that they could handle uncomfortable situations. Their thoughts reflect a very positive and firm belief that they are in control of their eating.”
Whereas, two-thirds of the unsuccessful dieters reported worries about what other people were thinking of them.

You, too, can be a very successful eater. Work on these stategies:

Check-In Call

November 11th, 2008
· Filed Under: Fat Loss Mindset

I just wanted to share a great tip with you that I find is working very well with my training clients. We have a ‘check in’ call. We set up a time to do a quick call to each other in the morning. This call is solely to let the other person know that you did your cardio. Wow, is it effective!

Once that alarm goes off in the morning, I am UP! I am ready to get going on my bike or walk because I know that someone is counting on me to do it. I know that I will be getting a call soon and I don’t want to have any lame excuses. This set up will encourage you to be accountable to a plan and motivated to prove to someone else that you did it!

Too Much Reading, Too Little Doing…

November 10th, 2008
· Filed Under: Fat Loss Mindset

Hello all,

I’ve been hearing lately from family and friends about how many books they have on weight loss. They have so many books on their shelves and are trying to organize them. Complaining that they have not even opened some of them. Or, that the book was not what they had expected…or that they liked the book, but it is flawed because they are not getting the results they anticipated.

Does this sound familiar to you? Do you tend to jump from one program to the other, hoping for some kind of a miracle? Do you truly think that you will find that one unique book and/or program that will solve all of your weight loss problems? Well, if you do, I’m sorry to tell you this, but you are going to be greatly disappointed. Why? Because there is only one true answer to lifetime weight loss success and that is:

The Lifestyle Approach To Fat Loss Is A Bunch Of Crap!

July 20th, 2008
· Filed Under: Fat Loss Mindset · Fat Loss Nutrition · Fat Loss Workouts · Podcasts

I’m going to be blunt and honest with you here. If you want to burn fat, discard several pounds, and get into better shape and health, I’ve got some news for you. Looking for a nutrition and workout program that you can follow for life will not do you any good at all. In fact, I believe that the traditional lifestyle approach to fat loss is a bunch of crap. I’ll share my Non-Traditional Lifestyle Approach to fat loss in a moment, but first, here’s why I believe lifestyle plans suck…

“Alternate Exercises” - Gluteus to the Maximus

June 27th, 2008
· Filed Under: Fat Loss Mindset · Fat Loss Workouts

If you have done this particular exercise you will know what I mean when I say, “Wow.” The front of my quadriceps are really sore. I just keep stretching! I did workout #12 from the advanced home workouts, following Nick Nillson’s “Gluteus to the Maximus” program. We just kept alternating between two exercises for a total of 8 sets! I have a workout partner, which really helps. I wonder if her thighs are really sore too? Usually I am mainly really sore in my butt muscles…

Week Four - Gluteus to the MAXimus!

June 23rd, 2008
· Filed Under: Fat Loss Mindset · Fat Loss Workouts

Hi everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend…we had a great time here. The weather was perfect…not too hot or too cool. I went for a couple of bike rides down a country road. Biking riding is great for isolating the glute muscles.

Workout Music To Boost Your Energy And Focus

June 21st, 2008
· Filed Under: Fat Loss Mindset

Attraction AcceleratorFor nearly a year now there has been just one audio in my mp3 player that I listen to when I workout. That mp3 is the Optimindzation Attraction Accelerator audio. Without this workout music I simply can not perform my best in the gym. In fact, just the other day I walked into the gym without my mp3 player. I couldn’t believe that I left it at home, but since I was already at the gym I decided to go ahead with my workout. After 5 minutes of warming up I walked out of the gym and drove home to get my mp3 player and the Attraction Accelerator audio.

Seriously! I just could not do my workout without it. Nothing felt the same. I was unfocused, unmotivated, and distracted with everything going on in my surroundings. I was as far away from my training ‘zone’ as I could possibly be.

How I Approach My Workouts

I walk through the gym door with an intense purpose and passion. I know exactly what I’m going to do and I know that I will give everything that I have and more to making this workout the best one that I’ve ever had.

I refuse to just go through the motions.

Childhood Obesity - What Can We Do?

April 23rd, 2008
· Filed Under: Fat Loss Mindset · Fat Loss Nutrition · Fat Loss Workouts

Hi everyone…I really feel passionate about doing my part to help stop childhood obesity from becoming the ‘trend’ that it has recently. I want to make a difference. I feel lost at times at what kind of approach to take.
The Fit Chic
I love being around children and was thinking about creating some sort of outdoor fitness session for kids. I have not worked any specific details yet.

However, then I start thinking that what if I do this and then they go home to their parents where they are only offered processed, high fatty foods? All of my efforts would be abolished. Or would they?
