I wanted to share one of my wife’s posts about her journey on The Every Other Day Diet Lifestyle Plan. I’ve got to tell you that it definitely makes things a whole lot easier when your spouse is in tune with what you are doing and follows the same lifestyle and meal plan as you. Here’s Angie’s post…

Hi, this is Angie here…yes, I am BACK!! I know I’ve kinda disappeared from the ’scene’ for a bit, sorry I’ve been totally putting my focus towards achieving my ISSA certificate as a “Certified Personal Trainer” It’s been such an exciting journey so far! I have decided to leave my job that I was at for the past 9 years. It’s been a HUGE adjustment in a positive way. I love learning about health and fitness and especially applying different techniques whether that be in the form of food habits and/or weight training.

I am currently following the Every Other Day Diet - Lifestyle Plan. I am on Day 4. This has been the perfect challenge for me. I am a busy mom. I have two young children. Shayne is 6 and Noelle is 4. I find that with this plan I am not too restricted in such a way that I CAN allow myself to bake the desserts WITH my kids on the ‘feed days’ (every third day) and we can enjoy our ‘treat’ together!

For me, the number one reason I wanted to do this was to challenge myself more. I really want to burn more fat and get more defined, especially in my thighs! I am not overweight. I am satisfied with my body…for lack of a better word. I have never really challenged myself to see if I can sculpt it better!

I want that look…you know what I mean…the defined legs and calves! I must also admit that I do have my fair share of ‘dimples’ in my thighs too! So if I can make a change and if that change is not going to totally alter my everyday routine and I can still have my ‘treat’ days… and most importantly I will be shedding unwanted body fat, increasing my lean muscle mass, and thereby becoming a much more healthier and energetic person…what am I waiting for?! I must ask you too…what are you waiting for?

My most difficult moments are when I do bake a ‘dessert’ and I have my share on my ‘feed’ day and then the leftovers are just sitting there. For some reason those desserts seem to look better and more scrumptuous with each passing minute! Also, at night is when I want my snacks…now I have my detox meal. I have a huge salad with lots of veggies and onions. I am actually getting used to this quite fast. I then brush my teeth and I don’t crave anything else.

I really love onions so I have lots of those in my salad with just a bit of dressing. Poor Scott says he can smell the onions before even coming close to me! Needless to say he’s been staying away! I think that having only a healthy salad at night is going to be a huge contributing factor to my fat loss.

I have following The Fit Chic workouts. I love working out. I always have. I find it clears my mind and gives me a TON of energy! It’s my natural endorphin pill.

I actually find I get very irritable when I don’t work out. After a good, hard work out I feel like a new, and refreshed person. My workouts are very quick. This is how I like it. I have a few dumbbells in our basement, a bench, and some physio balls. I put on some uplifting cardio music and away I go. There are no distractions! Just me and the weights! I love it:) I am done is about 20-25 min.

I’m looking forward to sharing this journey with you.
