Success in your journey towards your dream body can happen as soon as you embark on your path towards your fat loss goal. It’s so incredibly important that you celebrate each and every success and record it so you can look back on it when times get tough. Here’s an excellent example of how you can become successful as soon as you start your fat loss program…

Christie, a fellow Fit Chic recently sent me an email to tell me how much The Fit Chic book had an impact on her. She told me a bit about her personal story and battle with weight loss and then she shared her goals with me.

Take a moment to read this email that Christie sent, read her goals, and then read her new goals after I had advised her to put more passion and fire into them.

Here’s the heart felt email that she sent…

Hi Scott!

I am a person that believes that when you are in need of something you will find it or most usually it will find you. My fiance came across some information by Tom Venuto one day just doing a random search. He really seemed to like him. So, I decided to look for more for him and came across Rob AKA “the former fat guy”. I was intrigued and impressed with what he had to say and the wealth of knowledge found on his site. That’s where I found you. I read some of your articles and thought to myself this guy knows what he’s talking about. So, I went to your Fit Chic site and read some blog posts. I was sold immediately.

I bought your Fit Chic book yesterday morning. In between being a mom for my 6 kids, I found the time to read the whole thing and finished it this morning. I know you probably hear this a lot but it spoke to me. I have never found something that seemed like it was written for me, like you knew me and knew what I needed to hear. Thank you!

I started my journey to being at my goal weight in July. Independence Day was what I called my wake up day. I was 280 lbs. at 5 ft. 5 in. and gaining. I walked the kids a few blocks away to where they fireworks would be instead of fighting traffic. At that point it wasn’t in my mind to do it for my health. I had dieted so much before and failed that I was content with being
a beautiful big woman
. After a few minutes of walking, my chest was sore. I have asthma so I blew it off and kept going. By the time we were there, I was gasping for breath and my chest really hurt. A few minutes of rest helped me recover. As I sat and watched the beauty of the fireworks, the harsh reality hit me. This was not because I have asthma, but because I was too fat to walk my kids 3 blocks. It lit a fire in me to be a healthier mom so my kids would have a mom.

After a couple of weeks of research on how I could change my life and succeed, I decided to join Richard Simmon’s Clubhouse. It seemed like a good idea at the time. I was down 40 lbs in less than 2 months. I felt great. But, I got sick and hurt my back. I posted to the forum there and all of the other people struggling with their weight said, ” you’re sick. eat however you can, rest, and start back when you’re ready. it’s ok.” And so I did. And I’m now currently back up to 262 lbs. Coming back, I realized that I was asking advice from people who were like me, struggling miserable to reach their goals. I needed to be around people who were healthy and not discussing how today is a new day after their junk food binge the night before. These are the people I was looking at for guidance.

In my search for someone to kick me in the ass, you found me. You showed me the error of my ways, the reasons why I have never been successful, and how I will be successful in meeting my current goal and all future ones. I know what I want and how I will get it. Knowing is a very important thing. I have always believed that knowledge is power. I now have the power to achieve my goals and my dreams. I’m still young. I’m only 33. I can have a very long healthy life. I felt that it was important to not only tell everyone I know about the amazing transformation that I am going through and my goals, but to also tell the people that I don’t know, like you and frankly the rest of the world. You have lit a fire in me and motivated me so much.

So, here are my goals…

In 12 weeks, I am 238 lbs and I feel great. I have a much healthier life style. I love eating nutritious, whole foods. My water intake is excellent. And, working out is as much a part of my life as going to the bathroom and taking a shower.

In 66 weeks, I am my goal weight of 130 lbs and 20% body fat! I look amazing and feel like a different person. I’m sexy and full of energy. My once new lifestyle of eating and exercise is now a way of life. I’m happy, healthy, and on my way to making and achieving new goals.

Scott, I not only am going to reach my goals of a dream body, I going to surpass them. I am one woman who is no were near afraid of weights. In fact, I love the way I feel after I’ve lifted, the way your muscles feel all pulped up after a good work out. And, I love cardio. I can’t wait to see what other information and ideas you have in the future. So, bring it on cause I will succeed.

Thank you so much and I look forward to reporting to you in 3 short months of the already new me!

Be well my new friend,
Christie Fowler

After receiving Christie’s email and telling her how proud that I was of her and how I totally feel her passion blast right through my computer screen, I told her to add more passion to her goals…

… Her goals are pretty good, but when you have a goal that’s worthy of achieving you’ve got to ignite a fire under it.

Check out Christie’s response…

As far as the passion behind my goals, After rereading them, I got to thinking. Is that all I’ve got. All I want is to be happy with my eating and exercise? I don’t think so! I want it all.

January 11, 2008

It is now 3 months closer to achieving my dream body. The other day, I had to go out and buy new clothes. The clothes I had were falling off. I am so much thinner than before. Yesterday, it snowed. For the first time in a very long time, I went out and played in the snow with the kids. We had so much fun! When it was time to go inside, the kids looked at me and said, “Thanks Mom. We had so much fun. It was nice to get to play together and we are proud of you.” I ran into an old friend the other day. She couldn’t believe that I was so much thinner and couldn’t stop telling me how great I looked. At 238, I feel amazing! I can only imagine how wonderful I will feel when I reach my goal weight.

January 1,2009

I am now at goal weight and have the body I have always dreamed of! I am no longer fearing who will care for my children when I die because being obese robbed me of watching them grow up into adults. I am no longer in pain from feeling like I am carrying around an extra person. When I go to my kids school, I am no longer afraid of embarrassing my kids. Their classmates no longer snicker at their fat mom but say, “Dude you are so lucky to have a hot mom.” I shock people when I tell them that with my amazing looking body I have had 6 children. At 130 lbs. my sex life is amazing. My fiancee can’t keep his hands off of me and can’t stop telling me how sexy I look. My children all tell me how beautiful I am and that are so proud of me for achieving my dreams. I now pass right by the plus sized womens section and head straight for the skinny clothes. I can buy my clothes anywhere without fearing do they have my size. But, the best thing is I bought a bikini for our upcoming vacation. I know I will turn heads with my new sexy body.
