Well the photos speak for themselves! I am so happy to share with you our fat loss success story:

For myself, I decided that I wanted to get more serious about shedding some body fat back in October 2007. At the time Scott was reading Jon Benson’s book, The Every Other Day Diet. I was kinda curious about it, but did not read it right away. Scott started to follow the plan and I was intrigued. Here he was in the same house as me and eating super clean…why not do it together? I looked at it right away as not only a challenge for me to get in better shape, but to also bring us closer together. And, did it ever!
Now, I have never bought a ‘diet’ book. I always just believed in choosing and eating healthy foods. I never ate too much junk, drank my water, and loved exercise. So why did I decide to commit to Jon’s plan? Well for a few reasons…I noticed that I couldn’t eat all of the same foods as I used to without putting on some weight. I also have two young children and noticed that I was still hanging onto some of that baby fat. I also wanted to challenge myself to get super fit. My strongest desire was that I wanted to prove to myself that I could follow a plan and get through those cravings and tough ’situational factors.’
At first, I didn’t take the plan that seriously…I slipped up A LOT. Hey, I’m only human! But, the great thing I noticed was that I was still losing weight and shedding body fat. Hmmm, that made me think- what if I gave this my true potential, set a goal, and truly stuck it out?
Now, before I move on I want to add that all along I had been following the Fit Chic Year of Workouts. I NEVER missed a day and this totally keep my energy up and my mind clear and focused. I did FOUR 20 minute workouts a week as well as cardio. My cardio consisted of 30-45 minutes of brisk walking either in the morning or whenever I could fit it in! I also did AT LEAST 2 days of high intensity interval training (HIIT) each week. These were about 15-20 minutes in length. About 3 weeks before the photo shoot, I aimed for 5 days of HIIT training into my schedule as well as walking. Or, I rode on my stationary bike for 30 min. at a moderate pace, instead of the walk.
I decided to get ’serious’ about my transformation in December 2007. We were going on a cruise in January 2008 and I wanted to look the best I could. I felt that my mind was not in the right place though. I needed ‘inspired willpower’. I just love those words together! Think about it. I learned this from listening to the Unstoppable Fat Loss audio. In one of the 21 interviews, Jon Benson states that, “We all can have will power, but what we need is inspired willpower.” Isn’t that so powerful?! I would listen to the audio from my radio when I was making dinner, or as I walked, and even in my car! It truly gave me that inspiration and unstoppable attitude to get me to where I am at today! These people have touched my life in sooo many ways. Their personal stories and triumphs have made me realize that ANYTHING is possible in life.
My biggest obstacle was the sugar cravings I had, especially after dinner. Remembering my goal and the words from Unstoppable Fat Loss gave me the right mindset to keep moving forward and to stay focused.
An awesome motivator to plunge me forward was when Scott and I scheduled a fitness Photo Shoot. We did this on February 4, 2008. At this time I was 18% body fat and about 129 lbs. Taking this kind of ACTION gave us both the accountability we needed. We basically set ourselves up for SUCCESS. We HAD to do our absolute best to reach our goals because we had an actual date for a photo!! This was a HUGE STEP to take. We also told everyone we knew about it. Doing this will also set you up for success because you feel that you ‘owe’ it to others to succeed. You do not want to let anyone down.
So, do I think that you, too, can have my abs and toned body? Absolutely! I have two children. Shayne is 6. Noelle is 4. I have also had a c-section. I am super busy, just like you! I am NOW at 14% body fat and 124 lbs!! You may think that I am just blessed with great genetics, however I know that I can pack on the weight just like anyone else. I’ve seen it happen to me. I didn’t like it. I have decided to put healthy eating and exercise as a PRIORITY in my life. I know that if I do not have my health, I cannot live my life to its fullest potential. I truly believe that your body is your vessel. If you are overweight, you are sacrificing a life that could be lived in with much more joy. Living in the best body that you can give yourself is living a life to its fullest. You will have endless energy, vitality, mobility, and more confidence.
In July I will be 35 years old! I feel like I am in high school again! Seriously. Losing the 6% of body fat feels incredible. I have way more energy. I used to always want to nap in the afternoon. Now, I will do some HIIT training and get a second round of energy for the day. Living this way is addictive. Once you feel like this, you will want to keep it. The only way to do that for life is EXERCISE and a good NUTRITION program. Of course, behind all of this is your mindset. Without a proper mindset, you will likely fall off of your program.
I truly hope that our journey has inspired YOU to take action TODAY. We are here to help you with anything you need and/or questions you may have.
Getting in the best shape that YOU can be is possible for anyone. You set your own limits. You have your own beliefs. Challenge them if they don’t work for you. Discard any limiting beliefs. Start today with a new attitude. A new you. Live life to the fullest!
Cheers to health,
Angie
